Express Yourself Studios has several events slated for the month of July. Essex County residents are invited to take part in one or more of the studios events. Events are geared toward adults, families and children and include the following:
Saturday, July 11 - Sunday, July 12 - Maplewoodstock (Memorial Park - Maplewood, NJ) Visit Express Yourself Studios' table at Maplewoodstock Saturday and Sunday, July 11 - July 12, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Learn about the studio, our various offerings and register for Summer and Fall art classes. Kids can participate in an art project and enjoy face painting...enter to win a free Studio Saturday workshop 10 winners will be chosen...join us!
Thursday, July 16, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Cocktails & Canvas Workshop Express Yourself Studios will host another Cocktails & Canvas Workshop with award winning artist Rosalia Verdun. Mrs. Verdun a local New Jersey artist and a member of the Portrait Society of America and the Millburn-Short Hills Art Center will take participants through an abstract, still-life or landscape exercise. Rosalia’s work can be found in galleries and in private collections throughout the U.S. Currently Mrs. Verdun’s work can be viewed at the ACL Gallery in Livingston and at Express Yourself Studios or by visiting www.rosaliart.com.
Cocktails & Canvas is a night of art and fun for adults, B.Y.O.B if you like, light refreshments and all materials provided, $25 per person.
Summer Art Camp - Now - August 28 Express Yourself Studios is pleased to offer a Summer Art Camp program for children ages 5-12. It's not too late to register. Here are the details:
Age 5-8 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Age 9-12 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Express Yourself Studios Summer Art camp offers children the opportunity to experiment with a variety of media in a fun and supportive environment. Children will be encouraged to use their imagination freely.
Campers will create four art projects per week. The projects will be inspired by a different Master Artist. Children will learn about the Artists through discussions, examples, and art-making. Projects will include painting, drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper mache. An exhibition and reception featuring student’s artwork will be held at the conclusion of the week.
