MAPLEWOOD, NJ, April 30, 2011 – In observance of Mother’s Day Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood will offer two special opportunities for Moms to craft, create and celebrate motherhood.

Thursday, May 5 – Moms’ Night Out – Cocktails & Canvas

Moms join Express Yourself Studios for a special Mother’s Day Cocktails & Canvas Workshop. Bring your bottle of wine (or favorite beverage) and explore your creative side and have a night out with friends! No experience necessary...the main objective is to have fun! Thursday, May 5 7:00-9:00pm, $25 per person (adults only), supplies and light refreshments provided.

Special Mother’s Day gift for the first 10 registrants.

Saturday, May 7 – Mom & Me Arts & Crafts

Celebrate Mother’s Day with your child at Express Yourself Studios. Children (ages 2-10) will create a special project with Mom. All materials, plus treats provided. Saturday, May 7, 10:00am – 3:00pm. One-hours of studio time, join us any time between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, $30 for Mom/child ($12 each additional child).

Pizza & Pottery at Express Yourself Studios, Next on April 28

Join Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, NJ every 4th Thursday of the month for Pizza & Pottery (6:00 pm – 8:00 pm) Children ages 5-12 will participate in a fun pottery project creating a functional piece of artwork. Hand building techniques such as slab, pinch, and sculpture will be covered. All supplies, pizza and beverages included. $20 per person. Reserve your space today.

Summer Art Camp at Express Yourself Studios Reserve Your Camper’s Space Now!

Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood has begun its Summer Art Workshop 2011 enrollment. The Summer Art Workshop program is open to children ages 5-12. Children will experiment with a variety of media in a fun and supportive environment.

Participants will be encouraged to use their imagination freely as they learn about Master Artists. The Summer Workshop runs June 27 – August 26.

Workshop attendees will create 10-15 art projects per week. The projects will be inspired by a different Master Artist. The 2011 9-week schedule includes the following artists: Alexander Calder, Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky, Georgia O'Keeffe, Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and Jean Michel Basquiat.

Children will learn about the Artists through discussions, examples, and art-making. Projects will include painting, drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper mache. An exhibition and reception featuring students' artwork will be held at the conclusion of each week.

ArT4ReAL: A New Teen Art Workshop at Express Yourself Studios

Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, NJ offers a new teen art workshop called ArT4ReAL. ArT4ReAL takes place every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Teens are invited to take part in a guided art project; enjoy music, pizza and beverages while they express themselves creatively on canvas.

Projects include painting, mixed media and graffiti art (a different art project each session). All materials, pizza & beverages included. The workshop fee is $20 per person.
