Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood will host "Family Fun Night of Art" every Saturday 4:00pm-6:00pm. Families join us for 2-hours of studio time, one (1) guided art project, pizza, beverages and all materials required to facilitate the workshop.

The workshop fee is $20 per person (4 or more participants the workshop fee is $15 per guest.) To join “Family Fun Night of Art” register 2-3 days in advance. Everyone leaves with a frame-worthy piece of artwork.

Cocktails & Canvas Workshops at Express Yourself Studios, Next on March 1...RSVP Now!

Join Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood for Cocktails & Canvas. Bring your bottle of wine (or favorite beverage) and explore your creative side and have a night out with friends! Participate in a guided art project; no experience necessary...the main objective is to have fun! Leave with a finished masterpiece!!

Cocktails & Canvas is great for group workshops or private parties; great for "Girls’ Night Out,” Bachelorette parties and “Date Night.”. Every 1st and 3rd Thursday, 7:00-9:00pm participate in a guided art project, $25 per person (adults only), supplies & treats provided.

Spring Art Classes and Workshops Offered by Express Yourself Studios

MAPLEWOOD, NJ, February 21, 2012 – Express Yourself Studios, A Space to Create located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood is currently accepting enrollment for its Spring art classes. Classes are available for children (ages 2-12) and teens (ages 13+) and are offered in 6 week sessions. All materials are included, and there is a wide variety of classes to choose from. Kid’s classes include: Crafty Toddlers, Media Mix, Drawing & Painting, Sculpture and Cartoon Workshop. Teen classes include Art4ReAL Workshops every 2nd Friday and drop-in studio sessions. The Spring classes begin week of April 3. The registration deadline is March 31.

The Studio also hosts birthday parties and a myriad of art events and special workshops throughout the year such as Cocktails & Canvas and Coffee & Canvas Workshops for adults and Painting-N-Pajamas and Pizza & Pottery for toddlers and children.

Pizza & Pottery at Express Yourself Studios February 23 Be Inspired by African Clay Pots, Join Us!

Express Yourself Studios’ Summer Art Workshop Enrollment Is On...Register Before March 31 for Weekly Rate Discounts!

Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood has begun its Summer Art Workshop 2012 enrollment. The Summer Art Workshop program is open to children ages 5-12. Participants will experiment with a variety of media in a fun and supportive environment. Attendees are encouraged to use their imagination freely as they learn about Master Artists. The Summer Workshop runs June 25 – August 24.

Workshop attendees will create 10-15 art projects per week. The projects will be inspired by a different Master Artist. The 2012 9-week schedule includes the following artists: Alma Woodsey Thomas, Henri Matisse, Keith Haring, Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Diego Rivera, Paul Cezanne, Pablo Picasso and Georgia O'Keeffe.

Children will learn about the Artists through discussions, examples, and art-making. Projects will include painting, drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper mache (relative to the artists). An exhibition and reception featuring students' artwork will be held at the conclusion of each week.

Express Yourself Studios Celebrates Black History Month

MAPLEWOOD, NJ, February 2, 2012– Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, NJ has several events slated for Black History Month. The community is invited to take part in one or more of the Studio’s events which are kid and family-friendly and include the following:

Saturday, February 4, 11, 18, 25 – African American Artists Series
Times: 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

Every Saturday during the month of February enjoy a special Black History Month lesson in art exploring a different African-American Master Artists (Alma Woodsey Thomas, Romare Bearden, Varnette P. Honeywood, David C.Driskell). This program is offered as part of Express Yourself’s Studio Saturday offering and is open to children ages 5-12.

Thursday, February 23 – African Mask Workshop
Time: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

As part of the Studio’s Pizza & Pottery Workshop, children ages 5-12 will participate in a fun sculpture project creating an African Clay Pot that they will embellish with paint.

Painting-N-Pajamas this Friday, February 3 at Express Yourself Studios, RSVP Now!

Join Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood every 1st Friday of the month, 6:00pm-7:00pm for Painting-N-Pajamas. Children ages 2-5 are invited to wear their PJs and participate in a fun and creative art project and enjoy pizza & beverages. A different project each month (painting, pottery, collage & more).
