Express Yourself Studios; located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood will host a Spring Break Art Workshop April 1 – April 26 (choose your Spring Break week); 9:00 am – 12:00 pm for children age 4-10. Participants will create paintings using a mix of mediums (acrylics, watercolor, and pastels) and other projects using a myriad of materials (clay & paper collages). We’ll be inspired by artists such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Paul Cezanne, Georgia O’Keeffe and many others.

All materials are included, 3-hours of studio time. The workshop Fee: $150 for a week or $45 per child/per day; $40 per day if registering 2 or more children or 2 or more days.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ March 18, 2013 - Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood has posted its Summer Art Workshop 2013 schedule. The Summer Art Workshop is open to children ages 5-12. Children will experiment with a variety of media in a fun and supportive environment. Participants will be encouraged to use their imagination freely as they learn about Master Artists. The Summer Workshop runs June 24 – August 30. The early registration deadline is March 31. Regular registration is June 20.

Workshop attendees will create 10-15 art projects per week. The projects will be inspired by a different Master Artist. The 2013 10-week schedule includes the following artists: Paul Klee, Wayne Thiebaud, Keith Haring, Frank Stella, Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, William H. Johnson, Roy De Forest, Pablo Picasso and Georgia O'Keeffe.

Children will learn about the Artists through discussions, examples, and art-making. Projects will include painting, drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper mache (relative to the artists). An exhibition and reception featuring students' artwork will be held at the conclusion of each week.

Spring Art Classes & Workshops Offered by Express Yourself Studios, Classes Begin March 26, Registration Deadline March 22

Express Yourself Studios, located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood is currently accepting enrollment for its Spring art classes. Classes are available for children (ages 2-12) and teens (ages 13+) and are offered in 6 week sessions. All materials are included, and there are a wide variety of classes to choose from. Kid’s classes include: Crafty Toddlers, Crafty Kids, Mixed Media, Drawing & Painting, Sculpture and Cartoon Workshops. Teen classes include Art4ReAL and drop-in studio sessions. Spring classes begin the week of March 26. The registration deadline is March 22, 2013.
