Acrylic painting is a perfect medium for both the beginner and the experienced artist who wants to try something new. Anything that oils can do, acrylic can do! Learn the basics of mixing colors, blending and a variety of acrylic painting techniques with artist Rosalia Tignini Verdun. Learn, experiment and create a finished painting every Tuesday evening 6:00pm - 9:00pm at Express Yourself Studios, located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood.
Artist Rosalia Tignini Verdun an award winning artist will take participants through an exercise in Acrylics. Mrs. Verdun a local New Jersey artist is a member of the Portrait Society of America, the Millburn-Short Hills Art Center. Her work can be found in galleries and in private collections throughout the U.S. Currently Mrs. Verdun’s work can be viewed at the ACL Gallery in Livingston, at Express Yourself Studios or by visiting www.rosaliart.com.

Crafty Toddlers

Express Yourself Studios, located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood is now offering a Thursday & Saturday morning (10am-11am) class for toddlers! Children ages 2-4 are invited to play with paint! Pinch and pound clay! Collage with glue and explore different art materials. A different project each week. Moms, Dads or Caregivers can participate too!

Cartoon Workshop at Express Yourself Studios

Children age 7-12 join Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, NJ for a two-hour cartoon workshop (6:00pm - 8:00pm). Participants will create a comic strip featuring a superhero/heroin of their own concept. Looking at examples from current cartoons such as Batman, Spiderman, Ben 10, Pokémon, Bakugan, Sponge Bob, Looney Tunes, and more, children will learn the fundamentals of cartooning and graphic story-telling, along with its earliest beginnings and influence upon the art world at large. Pizza will be included and the budding cartoonist will leave with a four-panel comic strip to bring home at the end of the workshop. $20 per person. Reserve your space today.

Express Yourself Studios’ Summer Art Camp Enrollment
June 2-30
Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood offers a Summer Art camp program for children ages 5-12. Children will experiment with a variety of media in a fun and supportive environment. Children will be encouraged to use their imagination freely as we learn about Master Artists. Summer Camp runs June 28 – August 27.
Campers will create 10-15 art projects per week. The projects will be inspired by a different Master Artist. Children will learn about the Artists through discussions, examples, and art-making. Projects will include painting, drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper mache. An exhibition and reception featuring students’ artwork will be held at the conclusion of each week.
