Celebrate Autumn and Springfield Avenue’s HarvestFest with Express Yourself Studios This Saturday, October 13!

MAPLEWOOD, NJ, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 – Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, NJ has several events slated for Saturday, October 13 to coincide with Maplewood’s Springfield Avenue Partnership’s HarvestFest. Events are suitable for children and families and include the following:

Crafty Toddler Workshop
Saturday, October 13
10:00am – 11:00am and 11:30am – 12:30pm

This Saturday toddlers can enjoy a special lesson about Autumn and participate in a Fall inspired art project. This session we will create a Pumpkin collage.

The Crafty Toddler Workshop is open to children ages 2-4. The fee is $15 per child/per session (all materials included).

Studio Saturdays
Saturday, October 13
11:00am – 3:00pm

This Saturday between 11:00 am - 3:00 pm for Studio Saturday, this session we will paint a “Day-of-the Dead” Mexican Folk Art painting. Drop-in for a 1-hour session of art & fun (on-the-hour).

Studio Saturdays are open to children ages 5-12, $15 per child (ask us about play date discounts).

Family Fun Night of Art
Saturday, October 13
4:00pm – 6:00pm


Families join express Yourself Studios for 2-hours of studio time, one (1) guided art project, pizza, beverages and all materials required to facilitate the workshop. This Saturday we’ll create a Fall inspired painting.

The workshop fee is $20 per person (4 or more participants the workshop fee is $15 per guest.) To join “Family Fun Night of Art” register in advance. Everyone leaves with a frame-worthy piece of artwork.

Crafty Kids, a New Class Offered by Express Yourself Studios for Children Ages 4-5, Meets Wednesday and Friday Mornings

Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, NJ has a new class offering for pre-school children, Crafty Kids. Crafty Kids is great for the child (age 4-5) who is ready to work and create independently. Children are exposed to a variety of mediums from painting and drawing to clay, sculpture and mixed media. Students will enjoy using a myriad of artist's materials such as acrylics, watercolors, pastels and air-dry clay.

Crafty Kids is offered Wednesdays and Fridays 9:30am – 11:00am. The workshop fee is $25 per child/per class or you may purchase a Crafty Kids Pass, five (5) Crafty Kids Workshops for $100 (a savings of $25).

Express Yourself Studios, located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood offers a Mixed Media workshop Wednesday evenings 4:30pm - 5:30pm for children ages 4-7. Fall Classes begin the week of October 8.

This engaging and dynamic program is perfect for the child who wants to learn many art techniques, while creating diverse and imaginative projects. Each student will create different, unique and individualized art pieces through a variety of themes and subject matter.

Projects will include drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, clay and numerous mixed media-based concepts, using an array of fun and tactile materials and techniques. Students will also be introduced to various techniques and artists from art history.

Celebrate Autumn and HarvestFest with Express Yourself Studios

MAPLEWOOD, NJ, Monday, October 01, 2012 – Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, NJ has several events slated for the month of October to coincide with Maplewood’s Springfield Avenue Partnership’s HarvestFest. Events are suitable for children and families and include the following:

“Celebrate Autumn” - Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (October)
10:00am – 11:00am , 11:30am-12:30pm

Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning during the month of October, toddlers can enjoy a special lesson about Autumn and participate in a Fall inspired art project. This program is offered as part of Express Yourself Studios’ weekly Crafty Toddler Workshop open to children ages 2-4.

The Crafty Toddler Workshop is $15 per child/per session (all materials included).

“Clay Creatures” - Thursday, October 25
6:00pm – 8:00pm

As part of the Studio’s monthly Pizza & Pottery Workshop, children ages 5-12 will participate in a fun Halloween inspired sculpture project, sculpting and painting clay creatures. Pizza & Pottery is $20 per person (all materials, pizza and beverages included).

Pumpkin Painting - Sunday, October 28
