Express Yourself Studios has several events slated for January 2010. All are invited to take part in one or more of the studio’s events. Events are geared toward adults, families and children and include the following:
Winter Session II Art Classes & Workshop Enrollment

Express Yourself Studios, A Space to Create located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood is currently accepting enrollment for its Winter art classes (January – March). Classes are available for adults and children and are offered in 4 - 6 week sessions. All materials are included, and there is a wide variety of classes to choose from. Kids' classes include: Drawing & Painting, Media Mix, and Sculpture. Adult classes include Acrylics, Watercolor and Pastel Workshops as well as Altered Books. Winter Session II begins February 15 and runs through March 26.
"Braulio Batista: Manipulated Series"

"Braulio Batista: Manipulated Series" is a collection of artwork by artist Braulio Batista, Jr. Select works will be on display at Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood the entire month of January.
Mr. Batista teaches Photography and Exploring Art at Elizabeth High School as well as outreach programs at the Greater Newark Charter School for seventh and eighth grade Children. He also teaches various classes at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit.
Crafty Toddlers

Express Yourself Studios in now offering a Thursday & Saturday morning (10am-11am) class for toddlers! Children ages 2-4 are invited to play with paint! Pinch and pound clay! Collage with glue and explore different art materials. A different project each week. Moms, Dads or Caregivers can participate too!

Cocktails & Canvas Workshops at Express Yourself Studios (Adults)

Join Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood for Cocktails & Canvas. Bring your bottle of wine (or favorite beverage) and explore your creative side and have a night out with friends! Classes suitable for all levels...the main objective is to have fun! Leave with a finished masterpiece!! Individual workshops or private parties; great for "Girls’ Night Out." Every 3rd Thursday, 7:00-9:00pm, $25 per person (adults only), supplies provided.
Pizza & Pottery at Express Yourself Studios (Ages 5-12)

Join Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, NJ every 4th Thursday of the month for Pizza & Pottery (6:00pm – 8:00pm) Children ages 5-12 will participate in a fun pottery project creating a functional piece of artwork. Hand building techniques such as slab, pinch, and sculpture will be covered. All supplies, pizza and beverages include. $20 per person. Reserve your space today.
Coffee & Crafts

For those that love to craft join Express Yourself Studios, located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood every Wednesday morning 10:00 am – 11:30 am for Coffee and Crafts. Each week a new project will be explored. Participants will learn and therefore be inspired to create new things for family and friends. All materials are included, $25 per-person.
Studios Saturdays at Express Yourself Studios (Ages 5-10)

Join Express Yourself Studios, located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood every Saturday from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm for Studio Saturdays. Come and participate in a guided art project, a new project each week exploring a different art master and medium. Studio Saturdays are open to children ages 5-10, $15 per child. Celebrate Dr. King, Explore the Dream through Art
Monday, January 18
Drop-In Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Learn about Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement through art. Children between the ages of 4-12 are welcome to participate in an art project exploring the themes of Peace, Equality and Friendship. $12 per child, all participants are asked to bring a canned or boxed non-perishable food item to be donated to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
Summer Art Camp Enrollment
January 2 - 30
Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood offers a Summer Art camp program for children ages 5-12. Children will experiment with a variety of media in a fun and supportive environment. Children will be encouraged to use their imagination freely as we learn about Master Artists. Summer Art Camp runs June 28 – August 27.
Campers will create 10-15 art projects per week. The projects will be inspired by a different Master Artist. Children will learn about the Artists through discussions, examples, and art-making. Projects will include painting, drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper mache. An exhibition and reception featuring student’s artwork will be held at the conclusion of each week.

Express Yourself Studios is an art studio and art gallery dedicated to being an outlet for children and adults to express themselves creatively via classes in arts and crafts.
