Today is the first day of Black History Month, Express Yourself Studios will commemorate each day the only way we know how through art and knowledge #blackhistory365 - KOBE BRYANT spent his early years in Italy and joined the NBA straight out of high school. A dominant scorer, Bryant played his entire 20-season professional career in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Bryant played on both the 2008 and 2012 U.S. Olympic teams, winning consecutive gold medals with teammates. He achieved 17 NBA All-Star selections, a 2008 NBA MVP Award, and five NBA championships, solidifying his status as one of basketball’s all-time-greats.
Surpassing Michael Jordan for third place on the NBA all-time scoring list in December 2014 Bryant retired in 2016 after scoring 60 points in his final game. In 2018, he earned an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for “Dear Basketball.”
Kobe Bryant died tragically in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020 along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other passengers.
