Renowned African-American Artist Charles Caldwell to Show Works at Express Yourself Studios During Black History Month




MAPLEWOOD, NJ, February 15, 2009 – Renowned, international, African-American artist Charles Caldwell will have works from his American Mettle series on display during the month of February at Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue.

Caldwell expresses his unique views and voices his love and concern for his community through art. Mix media and strong emotions are the trademark of his pieces, which are extraordinary expressions of everyday themes. Mr. Caldwell’s latest series American Mettle are his thoughts on modern Americanism. He hopes the series will inspire conversations and reflections about the American spirit.

Mr. Caldwell will unveil his latest work “Seal of the President of the United States” featuring exquisitely painted images of President Barack Obama. These images will be available for purchase (lithographs) and may be signed by the artist at Express Yourself Studios on Sunday, February 1, 8, 15 and 22 between 2pm – 6pm. “We are so pleased to have an artist of Mr. Caldwell’s caliber join us for our Black History Month observance,” said Rodney-Brown co-owner of Express Yourself Studios.
