MAPLEWOOD, NJ September 24, 2010 – Express Yourself Studios, A Space to Create located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood will participate in Susan G. Komen North Jersey’s new fundraising initiative: “Invest Your Change,” which gives new meaning to the expression "every penny counts." This grass-roots fundraiser places canisters to collect loose change at local establishments to raise funds and remind the community about finding a cure for breast cancer.
For the entire month of October an “Invest Your Change” canister will be on display at Express Yourself Studios providing the community a way to donate funds to support National Breast Cancer Awareness and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Additionally, the Studio will host two (2) events to benefit the “Invest Your Change” initiative. Specifically:
Thursday, October 21 – Cocktails & Canvas – 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Express Yourself Studios’ Cocktails & Canvas Workshops are held every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. The workshops are suitable for all levels; the main objective is to have fun. Everyone leaves with a finished piece of artwork! Participants may bring their own bottle of wine (or favorite beverage) and explore their creative side while having a night out with friends! The October 21st workshop will take place 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. All art supplies and treats are provided. A fee of $25 per person is charged, of which $5 will be donated to Susan G. Komen of North Jersey’s “Invest Your Change.”
Saturday, October 30 – Pumpkin Painting – 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
Express Yourself Studios as part of Maplewood's Springfield Avenue Partnership's Breast Cancer Awareness and Healthy Harvest Fest will host Pumpkin Painting from 11:00am - 3:00pm. Pumpkins and treats provided (while supplies last). Children of all ages are welcome to paint pumpkins, participate in face painting and enjoy treats. A participation fee of $10 is asked of which $5 will benefit Susan G. Komen of North Jersey’s “Invest Your Change.”

Express Yourself Studios is an art studio and art gallery dedicated to being an outlet for children and adults to express themselves creatively via classes in arts and crafts.
