Express Yourself Studios’ Summer Art Workshop Enrollment Is On...Register Before March 31 for Weekly Rate Discounts!



Express Yourself Studios located at 1877 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood has begun its Summer Art Workshop 2012 enrollment. The Summer Art Workshop program is open to children ages 5-12. Participants will experiment with a variety of media in a fun and supportive environment. Attendees are encouraged to use their imagination freely as they learn about Master Artists. The Summer Workshop runs June 25 – August 24.

Workshop attendees will create 10-15 art projects per week. The projects will be inspired by a different Master Artist. The 2012 9-week schedule includes the following artists: Alma Woodsey Thomas, Henri Matisse, Keith Haring, Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Diego Rivera, Paul Cezanne, Pablo Picasso and Georgia O'Keeffe.

Children will learn about the Artists through discussions, examples, and art-making. Projects will include painting, drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper mache (relative to the artists). An exhibition and reception featuring students' artwork will be held at the conclusion of each week.

Express Yourself Studios is an art studio and art gallery dedicated to being an outlet for children and adults to express themselves creatively via classes in arts and crafts.
